This survey of the field of Cognition is designed for upper level psychology students.  It is different from other texts on cognition in several ways.  The first is the overall conceptual structure of the presentation: cognition can be illuminated by organizing the material around the idea of the use of knowledge in carrying out the various cognitive processes. This overarching structure leads to a more specific organizing factor: the book is structured around memory and related concepts.
